Free Cattle, Inc. ("Free Cattle," "we," or "us") places a high priority on user privacy and responsibly handles all personal data. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, store, use, and disclose when you interact with our website (freecattle.com), our hosted services including Polyupload (polyupload.com) and RealtimeDraw (realtimedraw.com), and our open-source software (collectively, "Services"). Your use of our Services signifies your consent to the data practices as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Open-Source Software

Some of our Services, including Polyupload and RealtimeDraw, are open-source software that anyone can run independently. This Privacy Policy applies only to instances operated by Free Cattle, Inc. (such as polyupload.com and realtimedraw.com). If you run our software yourself or use a third-party instance, that operator's privacy practices apply, not ours.

Data Collection and Use

Free Cattle aims to collect as little personal data as possible. Polyupload and RealtimeDraw do not require account creation and do not collect names, emails, or other personal identifiers. Any data we do collect is used solely to operate and improve our Services.

Server Logs and Technical Data

Our servers and third-party infrastructure automatically collect technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, and access times as part of normal server operations. We may use this data for security purposes, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. This data may be retained in server logs. We do not use this data for tracking or profiling purposes.

Polyupload-Specific Data Practices

Polyupload is a decentralized file storage application. When you use Polyupload:

  • We do not create user accounts or collect email addresses, names, or passwords.
  • Your wallet address is used to facilitate blockchain transactions and may be recorded on public blockchains or decentralized storage as part of normal service operation. We do not persistently store wallet addresses in our databases; wallet addresses may be used transiently to retrieve your upload information from blockchain networks.
  • Files you upload are sent directly to Arweave's decentralized storage network via the Turbo service—they do not pass through or reside on Free Cattle servers.
  • Metadata you provide (file names, descriptions) is stored on Arweave alongside your files.
  • NFT records linking your wallet to your uploads are minted on the Polygon blockchain.
  • If you choose encrypted uploads, encryption happens entirely in your browser before data leaves your device. Free Cattle never has access to your encryption keys or unencrypted content. However, because data on Arweave is permanent, if your encryption keys are ever compromised in the future (through wallet compromise, advances in computing, or other means), that data could become accessible. We recommend avoiding uploading highly confidential information even when using encryption.

RealtimeDraw-Specific Data Practices

RealtimeDraw is a collaborative whiteboard application. When you use RealtimeDraw:

  • We do not create user accounts or collect email addresses, names, or passwords.
  • A random anonymous identifier is generated in your browser and stored locally to distinguish your cursor and drawings during collaboration. This identifier is not linked to any personal information.
  • Drawing data (strokes, shapes, text, and uploaded images) is stored on our servers associated with the room you are using. This data is deleted when you clear the canvas, and unused rooms may be cleared periodically. We do not maintain backups of room data.
  • If you use an encryption key (via the room URL), all drawing data is encrypted in your browser before transmission. Free Cattle never has access to your encryption keys or unencrypted content when encryption is enabled.
  • Certain preferences (such as theme) are stored locally in your browser. When you create content, relevant attributes associated with that content are transmitted as part of normal service operation.

Third-Party Services

Our Services use third-party tools and infrastructure providers that may collect data as part of normal operations. For Polyupload, these include:

  • Arweave (via Turbo): Permanent decentralized file storage
  • Polygon blockchain: Public ledger for NFT indexing
  • WalletConnect/Reown: Wallet connection services

We also use third-party infrastructure providers for hosting and content delivery. These providers may maintain their own logs as part of standard operations. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services.

As we have no control over these third-party services, we recommend you review their respective privacy policies.

Browser Storage

We, along with potential third-party services, may use browser storage technologies (such as local storage), cookies, and similar technologies to collect, store, and enhance user experience. Polyupload uses browser storage primarily for wallet connection state. RealtimeDraw stores preferences in your browser's local storage. You can control these preferences through your browser settings, but disabling certain elements can affect the functionality of our Services.

Data Protection

We use a variety of security measures to protect information on systems we operate, including data encryption and access controls. However, we cannot guarantee absolute security, as no electronic transmission or storage method is completely infallible. For decentralized services like Polyupload, the security of your uploaded content depends on the underlying networks (Arweave, Polygon) and your own practices (such as keeping your wallet secure). For RealtimeDraw, optional end-to-end encryption provides additional protection when enabled.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred, stored, or processed in other countries when you use our Services. For Polyupload, your files are stored on Arweave's global decentralized network, and blockchain data exists across Polygon's distributed nodes worldwide. For RealtimeDraw, drawing data is stored on servers that may be located in various regions. Such use indicates your consent to the transfer of your information to locations where data protection and privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

User Eligibility

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If we discover that we hold personal data from an individual under 18, we will aim to delete it.

User-Generated Content

For services that support file uploads (such as Polyupload), user-generated content is stored on Arweave's decentralized storage network, subject to Arweave's policies. Polyupload may display links to content stored on Arweave; Free Cattle is not responsible for the content accessible through these links. If you believe content on Arweave infringes your rights, you must contact Arweave directly; Arweave is responsible for handling such requests according to their own policies. Free Cattle cannot remove content from Arweave's network. Consider carefully what you upload.

For RealtimeDraw, drawing content is stored on our servers and can be deleted by clearing the canvas. Unused rooms may be cleared periodically. Unlike Polyupload, RealtimeDraw content is not permanent.

Blockchain Data

For services that interact with blockchains (such as Polyupload), transaction data and metadata are recorded on public blockchains. For Polyupload, this includes NFT records on the Polygon blockchain. This data is:

  • Publicly visible to anyone
  • Permanently stored and cannot be altered or deleted
  • Outside of Free Cattle's control once recorded

We advise users to be cautious about any personal information included in blockchain transactions or associated metadata.

RealtimeDraw does not use blockchain technology.

Data Deletion Requests

If you would like to request deletion of your data, contact us at privacy@freecattle.com. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests where technically possible. For data stored on Arweave, you must contact Arweave directly.

Privacy Policy Updates

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on our website. Users are responsible for regularly checking this page for updates.
